Struggling with cookie cravings? This banana microwave cookie might be your new best friend. With a handful of ingredients and 30 seconds in the microwave, you can have a warm and soft cookie that only has 208 calories.
It’s also great as a no bake cookie. So if you prefer no bake cookies or don’t want to wait for the 30-second cook time, you can mix it up and eat the dough straight out of the bowl.
How to Make This Banana Microwave Cookie
With a minimal recipe like this, ingredient modifications can be difficult since there’s a smaller margin for error. The two ingredients you may have questions about are probably the protein powder and graham cracker crumbs.
Protein Powder
I used PEScience Select Whey and Casein Blend. I also successfully tested the recipe with Dymatize 100% Whey and MusclePharm Combat Powder. You can use any protein powder you’d like but if it’s a very fine texture or granular, you may need to slightly modify other ingredients.
You can modify the thickness of the microwave cookie dough by adding banana, adding dry ingredients, etc.
Graham Cracker Crumbs
If you don’t have access to graham crackers, you can try using digestive biscuits (for my AUS/UK readers) or crushed cookies or sweet crackers. Crushed cereal might work as well. Again, I would try to stick with the recipe if possible.
Once your ingredients are sorted, it’s as simple as adding everything to a bowl and mixing.
Be sure you’re using a ripe or overripe banana or you may have trouble mashing. If you have almost ripe bananas, I give a few tips on speeding up the process in my pumpkin banana bread protein muffins recipe.
You can see the microwave cookie dough should be on the thicker side. If you find your dough is too runny, try adding dry ingredients.
After you’ve nailed the dough consistency, press it flat, add your choice of chocolate chips, and pop it in the microwave. May I recommend the Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips?
All right, you’re ready to go bananas. When you make a banana microwave cookie, I’d love to see it. Snap a pic and tag me on Instagram @mugsformuscles or join my free Facebook group and share it with the proton party!
