In terms of dynamic duos, bacon and eggs has to be up there with Shaq and Kobe or spaghetti and meatballs, right? They taste amazing, provide a ton of protein, and are relatively easy aside from dirtying up a pan or two. I hope to alleviate the latter with this guide to microwaving eggs and bacon, making your morning routine even faster.
Microwaving Eggs 101
Below you’ll find three recipes for microwaving eggs. There’s the original egg and egg white blend, a fajita blend with frozen peppers and onions, as well as a bacon, egg, and cheese combo.
Option #1 – Basic Eggs and Egg Whites
- ⅜ C (92g) Liquid Egg Whites (or two whole egg whites)
- 1 Whole Egg
Add to a mug or small bowl, stir or whisk, and microwave for 75-90 seconds. The eggs should be fully solid and no longer runny.

How to Cook Crispy Bacon in the Microwave
Yes, you can cook raw bacon in the microwave. And better yet, you can cook super crispy bacon. Here are two options for microwavable bacon. You can use any bacon you’d like. But for the cook times, and my preferred bacon selection, I’ve used center cut bacon with roughly 70 calories per two slices.
Important Notes: With both options below, placing a paper towel over the bacon will help keep your microwave clean. Without it, the bacon will likely pop grease all over the place. Use this same paper towel to blot the grease after cooking and allow the bacon time to cool and crisp up.
Option #1
Place a microwave-safe bowl on top of a paper towel or plate. Drape 2 slices of bacon over the bowl without touching. Microwave for 2 minutes or until crispy. If you have a larger bowl, you may be able to cook more bacon at once. Add 30-45 seconds per additional slice of bacon.
Option #2
Place 4 slices of bacon on a microwave-safe plate. (I prefer using a paper plate.) Microwave for 3 minutes. Similar to option #1, add 30-45 seconds for additional bacon.
